Curriculum vitae
Merle Vetterlein studied Political Science and History
in Münster and Hamburg. She wrote her master’s
thesis on the Macedonian transformation process and
conducted field research in Macedonia in 2001, 2002
and 2003. After graduating in summer 2003, she worked
as a research assistant for CORE, contributing to
studies for the German Foreign Ministry and the European
Commission. From January 2005 to the end of May 2005,
she was based in Heidelberg, where she collaborated
on the publication of the Friedensgutachten. Since
June 2005, Merle Vetterlein has been a PhD candidate
at the IFSH/CORE. She held a two-year scholarship
from the German Foundation for Peace Research, and
holds now a scholarship from the IFSH.
She is also responsible for the organisation of the
network "Women in International Security", WIIS,
in Hamburg.
